Riteway Sales and Marketing, based in Lakeland, Florida, announced Monday the launch of Riteway Fresh, its new fresh division targeting the Southeast market.
Target will add fresh grocery several Detroit area locations as part of the company’s ongoing effort to remodel stores across the country. Shoppers will be able to buy Target private labels including Archer Farms premium foods, Market Pantry value staples, and Sutton & Dodge premium quality USDA Choice beef.
Less than a month after its parent company announced plans to double private brand sales in the next three years, 7-Eleven officials told the New York Times that they planned to double their sales of fresh foods in North American outlets.
The private label perishables arena is not so private anymore. With more retailers leveraging store brands as they seek to increase margins and differentiate their offerings from those of competitors, private label selections are becoming increasingly prominent in an expanding number of outlets.
