“Walgreens using location-based promotions is a good idea but I get the feeling they are just joining the bandwagon,” Jim Wisner, president of Libertyville, Ill.-based Wisner Marketing Group tells PLBuyer’s eReport.
“Restaurants have been doing these kinds of promotions for years and it was only a matter of time before retailers caught on,” he says. “More retailers are getting involved with customers on a digital level and it will change the way products are promoted in a big way.”
