First Quarter Sees Plethora of PL Launches

The just-ended first quarter of 2011 proved ripe for private label product launches.
El Sagundo, Calif.-based Fresh & Easy followed its recent release of a newly expanded line of frozen gourmet Italian pizzas with the launch of an organic 100 percent pure Vermont maple syrup.
H-E-B recently expanded its line of private label pure cane sugar sodas. The San Antonio, Texas-based retailer introduced three new flavors: orange burst, wild red and old-fashioned root beer.

Pleasanton, Calif.-based Safeway jumped on the health and wellness bandwagon with the rollout of its whole wheat sandwich slenders under its Eating Right brand.
