Costco VP Looks Ahead To 2013 Expo

August 27, 2012

As chairman of the Pharmacy and Technology Conference hosted by the National Association of Chain Drug Stores, Costco Wholesale Senior Vice President of Pharmacy Victor Curtis took the chance Sunday to pitch attendees on the association’s latest event.

Total Store Expo will debut in Las Vegas in August 2013, a combination of the Marketplace Conference, the Pharmacy and Technology Conference, and the Supply Chain and Logistics Conference that were conducted this year. Curtis said in opening remarks in Denver on Sunday that the Total Store Expo will be an efficient format with enhanced strategic integration.

“I am convinced that by bringing together these three meetings, NACDS will create a meeting that adds up to much more than the sum of three parts,” Curtis said, according to a news release from NACDS. “By allowing strategic, cross-functional department meetings to occur, with the right business partners, each similarly aligned, there is the potential to produce exponentially greater results.”

Curtis added that the new format of Total Store Expo will challenge attendees to think about their business in a new way.

“You and your company will determine your success at the NACDS Total Store Expo,” he said. “My advice is to aim high. If we dialogue internally, if we identify synergies across departments, if we approach this meeting with new creativity, scheduling intelligently and with coordination, we are likely to achieve even greater results than you might have imagined.”
