7-Eleven Announces Expansion Plans

December 9, 2009

Dallas-based 7-Eleven Inc. announced plans to expand in two regions of the United States: the North Pacific area (Washington, Oregon and Northern California) and New York. By the end of 2011, the retailer said it plans to add 50 new stores in Northern California (approximately 20 in 2010 and nearly 30 in 2011), as well as 15 new stores in the Puget Sound area. 7-Eleven said it selected St. Louis-based Colliers Corporate Solutions as its exclusive broker to assist with both developments.

For its New York expansion, 7-Eleven said it is looking to open 100 new Manhattan locations in the next five years. This expansion will be done either by executing new leases or through the company’s business conversion program, where owners are invited to convert their existing business into a 7-Eleven franchise. The retailer has retained New York-based Robert K Futterman & Associates, the nation’s largest independent real estate firm, as its exclusive retail leasing representative in Manhattan.
