Insecticides Led 2010 PL Volume Gains in Supermarket, PLMA Says

Insecticides and insect repellents led private label dollar and unit volume gains in supermarkets in 2010, according to PLMA’s 2011 Private Label Yearbook released the week of June 20.


The category saw a 45.3 percent dollar volume gain  with total dollar volume of $4.1 million, and a 1.6 percent dollar share increase last year.



Insecticides led unit volume games as well with a 45.4 percent gain  to 1.3 million units and a 2.2 percent unit share increase during 2010.


The Private Label Manufacturers Association  2011 Private Label yearbook was created using data from The Nielsen Company for the 52 weeks ending Dec. 25, 2010.
