Fremont Company’s Gibson Receives Mid America Food Processors Person of the Year Award

Jim Gibson, plant manager of the Fremont Company’s Rockford facility, was just awarded the prestigious H.D. Brown Person of the Year Food Processing award. The award is granted annually by the Mid America Food Processors Association (MAFP). The Fremont Company manufactures leading private brand ketchup, steak sauce and Mississippi Brand BBQ Sauce at the Rockford plant, which is sold in over 60 countries worldwide.

The H.D. Brown Person of the Year Food Processing award was established in 1968 to recognize individuals who have contributed significantly to the food processing industry. The award recipient is chosen by his or her peers in the food industry. According to the MAFP, Gibson was given the award because he practices “hands on leadership both in and out of the plant.”

“This is an award that recognizes the hard work, leadership and innovative thinking that Jim Gibson brings to The Fremont Company. Jim manages a team that is committed to maintaining a level of excellence throughout every aspect of the food production experience.” says company Vice President, Jeff Diehr.

Jim Gibson has been a Fremont Company employee since 1975 and managing the Fremont Rockford Plant since 1979. He graduated with a degree in food technology at the College of Agriculture and Home Economics from The Ohio State University.
