This week 60% of the retailers saw an increase in their Private Label promotions when compared to the same week last year. Of those that increased, two did so by more than 30%.
Giant-Landover (+54.0%) and Walgreens (+33.1%) had the largest increases among the retailer group compared to 2012. Conversely, Walmart (-69.6%) saw the largest percentage decrease year over year.
The only retailers in the group that remained relatively flat year over year were Winn-Dixie (+5.6%) and Rite-Aid (+6.5%).
