Aldi Picks California HQ Site

The Press-Enterprise newspaper in Riverside, Calif., reported Friday that Aldi has reached agreement with officials of Moreno Valley to build a regional headquarters and warehouse complex in the town. The newspaper said construction is expected later this year on a 935,000-square-foot warehouse and office suite, with an expected cost of $55 million.

Aldi confirmed in a press release on Monday that it is in the initial stages of discussions to "potentially" locate a warehouse in Moreno Valley. The retailer also said it is furthur developing its plans to expand in Southern California. 

“We sold Aldi on the face this was a city with aspirations,” the Press-Enterprise quoted Moreno Valley Mayor Tom Owings as saying.
