PLMA's 'World of Private Label' Opens

The world’s biggest private label trade show opened in Amsterdam today at the RAI Exhibition Centre.

PLMA’s 2013 “World of Private Label” International Trade Show is expecting a record number of retail visitors, more than 9.000, and they will be looking for new products, packaging and ideas to build their private label programs. They will find them on the trade show floor, where there are more than 3,800 exhibit stands and more than 2,100 exhibitors from 70 countries.  

This year’s event will be the largest “World of Private Label” ever and it reflects the market share gains posted by retailer brands across Europe. The market share for private label climbed in 18 of the 20 countries tracked by Nielsen data for PLMA’s 2013 Private Label Yearbook.   

Every year international pavilions are a big attraction for visitors. This year there will be several new international pavilions, including ones from Hungary, Croatia, Korea, “Noord-Brabant”, Ecuador, Mexico, and Murcia, Spain.

Other highlights at this year’s Trade Show include PLMA’s Idea Supermarket, where visitors can see private label products on display from retailers in Europe, North and South America, and Asia. Another attraction, PLMA’s New Product Expo, displays the new private label products from Trade Show exhibitors. 

With offices in Amsterdam and New York, PLMA represents more than 3,400 member companies from 70 countries. PLMA presented its first show in Europe in 1986.
