Safeway Launches Lucerne Contest Voting

Safeway has opened voting for its eighth annual The Art of Dairy contest for its Lucerne dairy brand.

Nine student finalists were chosen to compete for a $30,000 grand prize. The nine created art on a life-size fiberglass cow, and voting for the top design will take play through May 17 at www.artofdairy.com.

Every 100,000thvoter will receive a $100 Safeway gift card, through 1 million votes. Voters also can tweet a picture of their favorite Lucerne product with the hashtag #artofdairy for a chance to win one of 10 $100 gift cards.

More than 6,400 entries were received from schools across the country for the contest. Winners will be announced in early June, and through May, viewers of Safeway’s YouTube page can watch the artistic process from each of the nine finalists.
