KP Tissue reported full-year earnings for 2012 for the first time as a public company, and its CEO pointed to progress in private label in the U.S.
KP Tissue acquired a limited partnership in Kruger Products LP in Canada in December and reported financial results for Kruger Products. The company, a manufacturer of tissue products for household, commercial, and industrial use, reported sales rising 3.4 percent from 2011 to $922.9 million in fiscal 2012, including a 0.8 percent increase in the fiscal fourth quarter. Profits for 2012 rose 62.7 percent from a year earlier to $46.6 million.
“Our full range of brands gained market share in Canada,” KP Tissue and KPLP CEO Mario Gosselin said in a news release, “and our private label business made solid progress in the U.S. Our White Cloud Ultra brand, exclusive to Walmart, was ranked as the No. 1 bathroom tissue by a leading U.S. consumer magazine (Consumer Reports).”
