Target Canada To Launch 3 Stores Tuesday

Target announced that it would open its first three pilot stores in Canada at 8 a.m. Tuesday in three Ontario towns.

The stores in Guelph, Milton and Fergus are the first of 124 opening across the country this year, Target said in a news release. They are the first in a wave of 24 soft openings across Ontario in March.

Pilot stores are expected to be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. They feature a licensed Starbucks and an in-store pharmacy.

“The Target team is excited to open these test locations as we put the finishing touches on our stores, assortments and inventory,” said Tony Fisher, president of Target Canada, in the release. “We look forward to delivering on our Expect More. Pay Less. brand promise and providing an outstanding shopping experience as we approach our grand opening in early April.”

Target stores in Canada will feature limited time collaborations with Roots and Hollywood stylist Kate Young as well as ongoing collaborations such as the Nate Berkus Collection, the Sonia Kashuk Collection, Giada De Laurentiis for Target, and Shaun White apparel. Each store also will carry an extensive range of private labels, including C9 by Champion, Circo, Archer Farms, Market Pantry and Up & Up, the company said.
