Loblaws Promotes Private Label In Healthy Campaign

Loblaw Cos. is promoting private label items from its President's choice line during the Bring Healthier Home campaign, which launched Friday. The campaign will help shoppers find new PC products that will make it easier for them to make more nutritious choices.

"Research shows that eighty-five percent of Canadian families use mealtime as an opportunity to teach their children about healthier eating," says Tina Stewart, registered dietitian for Loblaw Companies Limited in a press release. "Getting your family to make more nutritious choices can be tricky which is why we created some new and easy ways to incorporate healthier eating into breakfast, lunch and dinner."

Private brands featured in the campaign provide shoppers with easy protein options, including the Must Try! PC Blue Menu Chicken Breast Strips and the Must Try! PC Blue Menu Granola Boost with Protein Cereal. Loblaws’ best-selling PC 0% M.F. Plain Greek Yogurt will now come in convenient single-serve cups.

The campaign also features new PC Blue Menu Whole Grain Brown Rice with Lentils and Quinoa Blend Side Dish and new PC Blue Menu Sides Bulgar and Quinoa.

"Whole grains are an important source of nutrition because they contain all parts of a plant's seed which means they tend to have more nutrients than refined grains," says Stewart.

Loblaws' new PC Seven Grain Melba Toast, PC Organics Strained Baby Food in Squeezable Pouch, PC Blue Menu Wild Hoki Skinless Fillets from New Zealand, and PC Blue Menu Tilapia are also featured. PC Blue Menu Tilapia is the first PC product to be certified by the Aquaculture Stewardship Council.

Snacks in the campaign include new PC Blue Menu Sea Salt Cannellini Bean Crisps and PC Organics Cheddar Cheese Flavour Popcorn.
