Enrique Ostale, the president and CEO of Walmart Chile, has been named president and CEO of Walmart Latin America.
Ostale will oversee Walmart’s operations in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico and Nicaragua. He will be based in Mexico City beginning March 1 after the retirement of current Latin America CEO Eduardo Solorzano.
Gian Carlo Nucci, the chief operating officer of Walmart de Mexico, will replace Ostale as CEO of Walmart Chile.
“Eduardo, Enrique, and Gian Carlo have each made contributions that have fostered the development of Walmart in Latin America,” Walmart International CEO Doug McMillon said in a news release.
Walmart Latin America includes 3,832 retail units with more than 373,000 employees.
