Giant Eagle said it would continue its Low Price Lock campaign through the winter months to help bring consumers “a degree of predictability in family budgets,” the retailer said in a news release.
The program began in October and froze prices on private label and national brand products from categories across the store. A spokesman for the retailer said that many of the items on the list since October will continue to have their prices frozen, while more products have been added.
“Due to the positive customer response to our Low Price Lock during the holiday season, we are freezing prices all winter long,” Giant Eagle Senior Director of Corporate Communications Rob Borella said in the release. “We have added hundreds of new products often on shoppers' lists.”
Giant Eagle has 230 supermarkets and 182 fuel and convenience stores with about $9.9 billion annually in sales.
