Kroger on Wednesday announced two senior vice presidents in appointments that it said supported the company’s long-term growth plans announced last week.
Marnette Perry has been named senior vice president of strategic initiatives and operations, while Michael Ellis was named senior vice president of retail divisions.
Perry will lead retail operations and strategic initiatives, including efforts to reach value-conscious customers. She was in charge of the Kroger team responsible for its “faster checkout” initiative.
Ellis will oversee five supermarket division plus Kroger’s jewelry and convenience store group.
"Kroger's highly experienced leadership team has the skill and deep understanding of our customers to grow our business, engage our associates and deliver shareholder value," said Rodney McMullen, Kroger's president and chief operating officer, in a news release announcing the moves.
