Perrigo Closes PBM Acquisition

Perrigo Co., Allegan, Mich., said it closed the acquisition of PBM Holdings Inc., the world’s largest infant formula manufacturer for store brand markets. Perrigo acquired 100 percent of PBM’s shares for $808 million in cash.

Based in Gordonsville, Va., PBM manufactures and distributes over-the-counter private label infant formula and baby foods sold by retail supermarkets and pharmacies in the United States, Canada, Mexico and China, Perrigo said.
