Safeway Inc., Pleasanton, Calif., announced the appointment of Diane M. Dietz as executive vice president and chief marketing officer. Dietz, who comes to Safeway following a 19-year career with Proctor & Gamble, will oversee the company’s marketing, merchandising, manufacturing and distribution functions.
