Indianapolis-based Heartland Sweeteners, which produces and sells no-calorie sweeteners to retail markets, said it hired Edward Pellegrino as vice president of sales. Pellegrino has 17 years of sales and development experience, most recently serving as vice president of sales for The Dannon Company. He will oversee Ideal, made with xylitol; Nevella with Probiotics, the world’s first and only no-calorie probiotic sweetener; and additional brands in development.

“As Heartland Sweeteners expands its product line and distribution throughout the United States and across the globe, Pellegrino’s extensive experience and success in sales at other leading consumer packaged goods companies will propel us to the next level,” said Mike Servie, president of Heartland Sweeteners. “We’re excited to have him on our team.”
