ALDI Inc., headquartered in Batavia, Ill., said it will open its first 11 Texas stores throughout the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex area on March 18. The retailer will open a total of 27 stores in North Texas this spring, with nine stores schedule to open in April, and an additional seven openings planned for May.

“There’s no better time than now for great prices, good jobs and a lasting community investment,” said Scott Huska, vice president of the ALDI Denton, Texas division. “Whether shoppers need to stretch a budget or simply choose to have more money to spend on other things, North Texans can count on us for high-quality select brands at prices no one else can touch.”

ALDI said it is bringing more than 400 new jobs to Texas, and is investing more than $150 million in capital expenditures there. The company’s investment includes approximately $50 million for a 500,000-square-foot Denton distribution center employing about 75 local residents.
