  • Minneapolis-based Target said it partnered with the iTunes Store to create a special Target area on the iTunes Web site that offers exclusive album content. Also accessible through Target.com, the Target area will include bonus tracks, behind-the-scenes video footage, iPhone Apps and more, the company said.

  • Big Lots said it will introduce a loyalty card program during the third quarter. Holders of the Columbus, Ohio-based chain's Buzz Club Card will receive a discount after making 10 purchases of $20 or more, the company said.

  • Hudson's Bay Co.-owned Zellers, Brampton, Ontario, recently launched an exclusive line of value-priced clothing by Canadian fashion designer Alfred Sung. Offered under the Pure Alfred Sung label, the collection is aimed at 35- top 44-year-old women and includes pants, skirts, shirts, sweaters, jumpers and jackets.

  • Batavia, Ill.-based ALDI is looking to expand its supplier network. A special page on the chain's Web site (www.aldifoods.com) provides more information about the rapidly growing company and asks suppliers interested in partnering with it to contact a representative.

  • Indianapolis-based Marsh Supermarkets just wrapped up a four-day sale of its entire private label lineup, including the Valu time, Food Club and Top Care brands. According to the company, shoppers got an additional 10 percent off "already low prices" between Aug. 27 and 30.

  • Food Lion LLC, Salisbury, N.C., received the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Distinguished Partner Award during an Aug. 18 ceremony at the Food Marketing Institute's Sustainability Summit in San Francisco. According to the company, the award honored Food Lion's commitment to installing advanced refrigeration technology at new stores.

  • A back-to-school preview Saturday, Aug. 29 gave Wegmans shoppers a host of easy, healthful and affordable meal and snack ideas, including those featuring store brands. According to the Rochester, N.Y.-based chain, the event included demonstrations, samples and displays designed to make the transition back to school easier for both parents and kids.

  • West Sacramento, Calif.-based Raley's is offering shoppers at its Raley's, Bel-Air and Nob Hill stores buy-one-get-one-free deals on a wide variety of Top Care health and beauty products. Good through Sept. 8, BOGO coupons are available on the chain's Web site.
